Frustration

Arrgh, this last week has been so frustrating. There's been so many things which I've been unable to do because I'm waiting on someone else, or because I've forgotten to do something myself, or because things have conspired against me... Fingers crossed that the next few days won't be as infuriating.

There was one advantage to being internet-less this week. It meant that I couldn't accidentally find out who had won this year's cracking series of The Apprentice before watching it. Not on iPlayer, but on an old-school VHS cassette, I should add (life's such fun in the 1990s house). The grand finalé was a fantastic end to the series. The candidates had so much to do in the three days they were given, and the focus (for us and Sir Alan) was on how the candidates would perform at actually doing business . The task ahead of them looked terrifying: invent a product, create it, design it, market it, test it, launch it... and all without any previous experience of working in the industry. If there was ever a task that would separate the men from the boys, this was it. The return of some of the losing candidates also meant there was plenty of opportunities for squabbling, arguing, time-wasting, eye-rolling and head-shaking. Marrakesh Formula E circuit revealed

The next round of the 2016/17 Formula E championship season will take place around the Moulay El Hassan circuit in Marrakesh. The race on November 12 will be the first time the series has visited Africa, and has been scheduled to coincide with the international climate change conference, COP22 . The track, which has recently been remodeled, hosted two races in the  World Touring Car Championship earlier this year. It runs along public streets for much of its length, before entering a section of purpose-built track around the old paddock. At almost 3km (1.8 miles), it is also significantly longer than the likes of Paris, London and Hong Kong. Indeed, it is currently the longest track on the calendar, so drivers will need to think carefully when planning race strategies. With just eleven games to go, the race for promotion from the Ryman League, Division 1 North, is really hotting up. The mighty Dartford are well in the running, but it's going to be a tough finish. Poor results against lowly teams at the beginning of the season have cost us some valuable points, but the team is now much stronger: good performances and good results against the teams around us have bolstered our position at the top of the table. Thanks to the good pitch at Princes Park, very few of our games have had to be cancelled: hopefully this means we'll escape a barrage of re-arranged fixtures in the crucial final few weeks of the season.
